A board-certified nephrologist and pioneering interventional nephrologist, Dr. Qaqish is currently practicing with Preferred Vascular Group. He specializes in interventional nephrology performing procedures such as placement and removal of tunneled hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis catheters, endovascular stent and coil placement for dialysis access dysfunction, renal biopsies, angiography and balloon angioplasty for vascular access stenosis, and thrombectomy procedures for clotted vascular access.
Dr. Qaqish completed his internal medicine residency through the UCLA/Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California. Dr. Qaqish was then a Nephrology Fellow then a Transplant Nephrology Fellow at UCLA, followed by interventional nephrology fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical School (2019). He has many publications, and a book editor on topics related to his practice.
Subsequent to his education, Dr. Qaqish attained board certification in internal medicine and nephrology through the American Board of Internal Medicine. The American Board of Internal Medicineis a 501 nonprofit, self-appointed physician-evaluation organization that certifies physicians practicing internal medicine and its subspecialties.
